Narrator: The most powerful thing in the world is an idea. What can’t be done by force, skill, legislation, or coercion can be done by an idea. Given the right opportunity an idea can change the world, but ideas have a weakness: They need a voice. Throughout history, men and women have become the voice of critical ideas and changed the trajectory of human history.

Now, we live in a world full of brokenness, darkness, and frustration, desperately in need of life-giving ideas, ideas found in a tradition of Christian wisdom, illuminating how Scripture and human discovery can promote human flourishing.

But these ideas are disconnected from academia. Generations of people are missing an opportunity to be influenced by Christian wisdom. These ideas are also disconnected from the Church. Christian leaders and influencers lack tools to engage in the most pressing issues of our day.

This problem is why Biola University Center for Christian Thought exists. CCT is creating opportunities for Christian scholars and thinkers to engage, interact, and ultimately, become a voice that enables Christian wisdom to impact academia and the Church. But this is more than just influencing a new generation of college students.

This is more than just equipping Church leaders and influencers. CCT is seeking to transform academia and the Church into a groundswell of new voices, pushing Christian wisdom forward into the future. Think about it, change academia, change the Church, and you can change the world. Ideas really are powerful. All they need is a voice. [dramatic music]
