Theologian / Philosopher, Northwest Nazarene University


Thomas Oord (PhD Claremont Graduate University) currently teaches graduate students at Northwest Nazarene University in Nampa, Idaho. He won the Outstanding Faculty Award ten times as professor at Northwest Nazarene, and he is also a best-selling author. Oord has authored and edited over 20 books, and he currently serves in various consulting and administrative roles for academic institutions, as well as a collaborator on scholarly projects and research teams. A couple of his most recent book include, The Uncontrolling Love of God: An Open and Relational Account of Providence and Theologies of Creation: Creatio Ex Nihilo and Its New Rivals. Oord and his wife, Cheryl, have three daughters.
