CCT Research Assistants and Program Assistants

Six Student Worker Jobs Available at $12/hr, 8-9 hrs/week

RESEARCH ASSISTANT (RA)

Purpose: 

To support CCT operations through research assistance to Research Fellows and Center staff.

Description:

Primarily, to assist Biola and External Research Fellows on their academic research related to the Center’s 2013-2014 theme, Psychology and Spiritual Formation. Secondarily, to assist the Center in its general programs and operations (public events, communications, social media, resources, program administration and coordination).

Duties and Responsibilities:

Research support for the Center’s research fellows (includes, but is not limited to: database research, library interfacing, obtaining physical and/or online resources, formulating bibliographies, indexing, and copyediting)
Perform other programmatic/administrative duties as needed by the Center’s staff (includes, but is not limited to: event staffing/setup, marketing and PR support, creative development, copywriting, proofreading, and peer review of materials).

Qualifications:

  • Enrolled Biola student
  • Bachelor’s Degree (undergraduate students will only be considered for the Program Assistant position)
  • Academic research experience, preferably for faculty at the university level
  • Flexibility and willingness to support the Center at all levels of operation
  • Prompt communication by email and/or phone
  • Weekly availability throughout semester
  • Able to meet deadlines
  • Good problem solving abilities
  • Excellent knowledge of and use of Biola’s library facilities and resources

Work Schedule:

8 - 9 hours a week

PROGRAM ASSISTANT (PA)

Purpose:

To support CCT operations through program assistance to Center staff and research fellows.

Description:

Primarily, to assist the Center in its general programs (public events, communications, social media, resources, program administration and coordination). Secondarily, to assist Biola and External Research Fellows on their academic research related to the Center’s 2013-2014 theme, Psychology and Spiritual Formation.

Duties and Responsibilities:

General program and office development and support (administration, data entry, Biola processes)
Communication development and support (online/print content, blogs, social media, etc.)
Event operations for public events (event registration, set up, parking, ect.)
Event outreach (marketing strategy and execution)

Qualifications:

Required

  • Enrolled Biola student (both graduate and undergraduates are eligible)
  • Technical skills in MS Office
  • Weekly availability throughout semester
  • Prompt communication by email or phone
  • Good problem solving abilities

Preferred

  • Adobe Creative/Production Suite skill
  • Photography, design, video experience
  • Familiarity with internal Biola administrative processes
